Kacey & Alan's outdoor wedding at picturesque Dromoland Castle
Date | 9th July 2017
Real wedding at Dromoland Castle, Ireland
Kacey initially got in touch with me via email as she was organising her wedding from the US. I'm aways amazed how quickly time flies from the initial booking to the wedding day. Before we knew it it was the morning of the wedding and we started coverage with the bridal prep where Kacey's bridesmaids gave her gifts & cards with photos of childhood memories. They effort they went to was astonishing & there was some beautiful moments to capture as Kacey opened her gifts. Once ready, we drove to Dromoland Castle for the ceremony, Dromoland has an abundance of scenic photo opportunities making the venue the perfect backdrop for photos. The rain held off for the outdoor wedding ceremony in the walled garden where there was an abundance of summer colours.
If you would like more information about my wedding photography services, please email me the details of your event with contact details and I'll be happy to send you on pricing information or discuss your day in more detail. Below are some of my favourites from the day, the final image delivery count was over 1200 images.
Dromoland Castle Wedding Photography | for this shot I hid a flash behind the green boathouse which produced that lovely soft light on the couple. Typically I don't take many kissing shots, instead preferring to capture the moment before or after a kiss but as this was a natural moment, it works well...
Some of Kacey's wedding details in wedding album format, I especially love her wedding shoes which had small lights which lit up for her entrance to the banqueting hall in Dromoland
Kacey got ready at the Lady Gregory hotel in Galway before driving to her ceremony in Dromoland Castle. I often like to photograph details in the brides hands or when she is wearing them to add to the variety of album images
One of my favourite images from the day of Kacey walking down the stairs leaving the hotel to get into her wedding car. I asked her monther and bridesmaids to stand beside me on the top of the stairs to my left to give Kacey a reason to look up as the girls made her laugh.
When Kacey arrived at Dromoland Castle the open door provided lovely soft light. The image that came our of the camera had guests in the background which was visible through the window to her left so I used photoshop to remove the people and extend the castle window.
The Spa at Dromoland | a private space for the bridal party for hair & make-up touch ups before heading to the ceremony. When the bridal party have bridal prep at Dromoland Castle, this is often the room they get ready in with hair & make-up. It has excellent light and is right next to a scenic outdoor area so from a photographer's perspective, it's an ideal location.

We had a few minutes to spare while waiting for the keys to the golf buggies which we were free to use to tour the Castle grounds for photos. I asked Kacey to swing her dress back and forth while taking a wide angle shot to showcase the layers in her dress.
Starting the tour of the Castle grounds for outdoor photos, the golf buddy is easy to drive & means we can cover ground quickly to get to the most scenic parts of the estate.
